Code Camp 2009.2 has 12 tracks; each track has a room and 5 sessions; track leads recruit speakers and manage the agenda for the day
| The Philly ALT.NET user group is focused on the craft of software development and the continuous improvement of our skills as developers. By identifying and discussing the best practices and principles that have been successful throughout our industry, we can help to establish a solid foundation for growing our own skills. In 2009, members of the group started the "Foundation Series" which is a series of workshops and talks aimed at teaching or reaffirming some of the proven, core principles and practices of object-oriented software design. This code camp, we've decided to dedicate our entire track to some of the content from our workshop series. If you consider yourself more of a craftsman than a "code monkey," and you value quality and maintainability in your code - we think you'll enjoy our track! | Brian Donahue | | 125 | | | Stan Spotts | | 122 | | | Rachel Appel | | 110 | |

It is assumed that attendees have little or no previous experience in client/server or web programming, although they should understand basic programming principles. We will start with the basics of HTML and XML, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and the Microsoft Framework. The second session will be a introduction to the Visual Studio development environment and debugging. The third session will introduce relational databases and building data-driven applications. The fourth session will discuss building web applications, and the last session will discuss building Windows applications. If you wish to follow along, be sure to install Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 and SQL Server 2005 or 2008. The Express editions are fine (free downloads from msdn.com). | Judy Calla | | 113 | | This beginner track consists of independent beginner topics for experienced Visual Studio developers who would like to explore new areas or for developers who are just getting started in Visual Studio. If you attended the beginner track at our April Code Camp, this track would be a next step. | Judy Calla | | 111 | | Designed specifically for IT professionals, this track will focus on key Microsoft products and technologies targeted at the enterprise environment. Sessions will include an in-depth look and demonstration of upcoming Microsoft products including Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7, and Exchange Server 2010. | Scott Stumpf | | 102 | | | Sharon Dooley | | 104 | |
