Windows Installer XML (WiX) is an open source toolset from Microsoft that allows Windows Installer packages (MSIs) to be written declaratively using XML.  It fully integrates with Visual Studio and msbuild, allowing developers to work on installer packages in a familiar environment alongside their existing projects.  This talk will show the basics of constructing an installer package for a simple application involving multiple files, registry settings, shortcuts, and UI.
