Description
This is the promised continuation of my May Code Camp talk. This time, I’ll talk about the Management Data Warehouse and Auditing. The Management Data Warehouse and its associated data collector provide an awesome tool for collecting historical performance data for servers across the Enterprise. If any of you have been SQLH2 users, you’ll see how this is a wonderful replacement for that tool. Ever written a trigger to capture change data to store in a audit table? Those days could be gone! I’ll give an overview of the new auditing capabilities of SQL Server 2008 and show you how to take advantage of these capabilities.
